Hello, everyone. I’ll talk about the Ichinoseki Summer Festival.
Ichinoseki is a city in Iwate Prefecture. My grandparents live in Ichinoseki, so I stay there every summer. I like to go to the festival with them.
It’s a big summer event in the city. Many people look forward to it.
The festival is for three days from the first Friday in August every year.
Do you like fireworks?
The fireworks show is a part of the Ichinoseki Summer Festival.
On the first night of the festival, you can enjoy about 10,000 fireworks at the Iwai River.
They are colorful and so beautiful.
On the second evening, many people in yukata costumes perform Kurukuru Odori. “Kuru” means “come” in English. People hope that happiness will come, and they dance. My grandmother joins the dance every year. On the last day, floats parade down the streets. Many people gather in the streets to see the floats. They are exciting.
Many people look happy at the festival. I think it’s wonderful.
